About Us
 Our goal is to be THE one-stop source for your personal property
appraisal and estate liquidation needs in North Texas.
In
1992, after many years as a dealer in the antiques and collectibles
business, Lorrie Semler launched
Semler Appraisals. When formal courses in appraisal theory and
practice were offered in Dallas by the International
Society of Appraisers in 1993, Lorrie took the classes and passed
the rigorous tests.
After many inquiries from the public about estate (tag) sales, Ms.
Semler added liquidations to the list of services offered.
While tag sales are still the preferred method of liquidating estates
in Dallas, sometimes an estate auction better suits the needs of
the clients. After a class at the Texas Auction Academy, Lorrie
took the Texas licensing test and received her auctioneer's license
in 1999.
Other appraisers who are members of the International Society of
Appraisers, the American Society of Appraisers, and the Appraisers
Association of America are called on from time to time to assist
with the valuation of items in their specialties for estate sales
and appraisals.
